How do I add Asset types?

This is how you add additional Asset types:

1. You have to be an Administrator. If you are, you will see an 'Administration' link in the upper right corner. If not, ask an administrator to do the following.
2. Click on the 'Administration' link.
3. On the System Administration page, click on the 'Manage Status Codes' link.
4. You will see different codes organized into groups. Look for the group 'asset.type'.
5. Note the codes in use for the existing asset types.
6. Click the 'New Code' link near the top of the list.
7. In the Scope: field, enter 'asset.type'. Fill in the Code: and Label: fields (example: REF and Reference)
8. Click 'Save'
