Task Delimiting
Just another one for consideration: Could you add a css style for the tasks page that does "odd_row" and "even_row" background colors?
Just to help the older crowd follow all the way across the
screen.
Perhaps a row count function that specifies the style based on the
odd or even layout.
IDK maybe a table border-bottom style like a horizontal rule?

Sure, I'll put that in. I guess we need a preferences system also in case someone wants to shut it off.

Perhaps....I'd hate to make it too much of a pain in the ass though.
There has to be a line and I understand that, that's why I try to filter every crazy idea my team brings me.

I think I can do this with just some CSS -- I'll try it.
If was a big pain I'd say 'wait' because eventually we are most likely going to swap in some more advanced controls that provide better interactivity, like this one:

Here I go again....In Safari when you sort under the TASKS tab....
You used the Ascii Characters ⇓ and ⇑
However Safari on Mac doesn't support them, I guess.
They seem to work everywhere else... leave it to Apple.
Can I suggest ↓ and ↑ (& darr;) and (& uarr;) - no spaces

On my Safari, the characters show up -- maybe there is some locale setting on your system causing this? In any case, I can change the characters no problem.

OK, cool. I'll stand down on the arrows then.
Been playing with the alternating rows thing. What do you think of this screen shot? Its done with CSS only. It works in Safari, not sure about Firefox yet, pretty sure it won't work in IE.

I think you were in my brain on that one....
But, why do you think it's a no go in IE.
Support Staff 11 Posted by cameron on 27 Aug, 2009 01:33 AM
Its using a CSS3 selector that I don't think IE is going to pick up, but we'll see...

nth-child.....got it...if it proves to be likable you could do an IE work-around with some jQuery action...but I assume you knew that already...

Brooks, the alternating tasks rows thing is done and staged for deploy -- should be up in about 24 hours.
Cheers,
Cameron

I noticed. Until now i didn't think there was such thing as a good
lie. Unless of course you work for the government, an insurance
agency, a lawyer or the girl scouts.
