So it appears as the label must be unique. What were you thinking is the best way to use label and title. for example, we have a full cg production with lots of characters and sets, etc. Label must be unique, so i could use that for the character name? and then title would be "character"?

    Hi Doug,

    In general, throughout the system, the "Label" is meant to be a unique
    identifier that is used in file names, documents and other things
    associated with the object. It shows up more in the API. The label for a
    shot consists of the sequence code plus the shot code.

    The label for an asset is not computed, and can be set to anything that
    has meaning for your environment. Some shops adapt their file naming
    convention to fit, for example:

    ppp_type_name_generation
    where:
    ppp=3 letter project code
    type=3 letter asset type code
    name=short descriptive name
    generation=major version number

    Example:

    eur_3d_probe_01

    eur=Project Europa
    3d=A 3D model
    probe=Short for 'Space Probe'
    01=first generation

    The title can be a longer, more descriptive name.

    Cheers,
    Cameron
