Element line-up data
Is it possible to enter and view element line up data for each shot? So that we can not where each element begins/ends in the shot, its speed factor, etc.?

Hi Pam,
What a lot of studios do is incorporate a 'Layout' stage to their pipeline, where someone sits down with all the footage or even proxies and does a 'slap comp' just to check whether the shot is even going to work. They are able to more than just frame counts, line-up and speed, they can also check for framing, composition, etc. Then the slap comp and all the proxies and other assets used
This generally works a lot better than having just data about frames, offsets and speed to guide the compositor. Also, the big issue with having all this data, is that someone has to sit down and enter it all. If you are having to request scans from film, then it makes a little more sense, but most people are just not that into entering data.
Aside from having a Layout stage in your pipeline, are two ShotRunner features that can be brought to bear here:
1) Custom Fields aka 'Property Sheets': It is possible to add any number of custom fields (that are organized into groups called property sheets) to your shots, elements and assets. These can be used to hold any kind of data. For example, although complex lineups don't happen all that often, its very common to need timecode/frames in/out and with/without handles for each element. (See the picture below for an example of a shot page with a couple of property sheets added on the right.)
2) The Python API. This can be used to help with data import and export, and to do all kinds of batch processing jobs. A few users have started with spreadsheets of planning data that they imported into ShotRunner using the API -- or had me do it for them. In particular, all of the property sheet data is accessible via the API.
Aside from that, I'd like to be able to get a report out of ShotRunner showing the custom fields I've set up, especially for elements, perhaps on the 'Card' layout.
Cheers,
Cameron
