Version 0.98 Update, 6-Aug-2010
Release notice for the ShotRunner v0.98 Update, 06-August-2010
Surprise! We now support video! — Well, we've always let you upload videos to ShotRunner, but all you got was an icon for your trouble. Now, we both generate an H.264 quick preview, and we generate video thumbnails! We can handle darn near any kind of video, including Blackmagic, Cinepak, DNxHD, Flash FLV, all the MPEGs, On2 VPx, Windows Media and many, many more.
When you upload a video, we transcode it in the background to an H.264 preview scaled to the height that you specify in the project preferences. It takes only about 30 seconds for the thumbnails to appear.
Today, video previews require the QuickTime plugin — but we hope to have standard HTML5 video playback available soon.
Attachment Pop-Up Menu — There is a new pop up menu when you click on a video thumbnail that includes a Preview option. This will show the transcoded video in a handy pop-up window.
What else can you do with the new pop-up menu? Well, you can Download the original file, or use Set as Thumbnail to use the image as the shot/element/asset thumbnail, or Delete the file.
We now support more payment types — We have switched over to a new payments processor. Our payments are now securely handled through Amazon Payments, providing many more flexible payment options, and a trusted name in eCommerce.
International users will benefit from improved service and better payment options as well. All existing paid accounts will need to do a one-time conversion to the new system and I will be contacting the account owners individually.
